School Bus Driver

Job Title: School Bus Operator
Salary Range: $26.00 - $27.00 Per Hour based on experience. Guaranteed 6 hours per full school day (AM & PM Route).
Who may be considered:
Those who possesses a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a P & S Endorsement and do not have an air brake restriction, OR are willing to complete training to become licensed in the state of Maryland, with the appropriate CDL to operate a school bus equipped with air brakes.
- Applicants must pass a DOT prescreen drug & alcohol test and a DOT Physical
- Applicants must pass an FBI & Maryland State Police background check.
- Applicants must provide a complete driving record, and have no more than 2 current points on your license as well as no previous DUI or DWI on your record.
- Applicants must complete preservice training with the Howard County Public School System to become certified as a school bus driver.
Job Description:
- Operate a school bus safely at all times
- Submit to random DOT Drug & Alcohol testing
- Maintain less than two points on your driving record
- Follow all traffic laws
- Comply with all company and HCPSS policies
- Keep all licensing and certification current
- Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Have knowledge and understanding of how to read a HCPSS route sheet
- Manage student behaviors on the bus
- Maintain a clean interior of the bus to which you are assigned
